Trinidad was named after the beautiful 16th century village of "La Santisima Trinidad" (The Holy Trinity).
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located on the south coast of Cuba.
The Trinidad brand has been around since 1969.
Like the Cohiba, it was only created as a gift for foreign ambassadors.
It was not released for general sale until 1998 - and then only in limited quantities.
In Trinidad, there was initially only one format: the fundadores.
Three more were added in 2003: the Reyes, the Coloniales and the Robusto Extra.
At the same time, the design of the brand and the cigar rings were updated.
For many years, the cigars of the "Trinidad" brand were produced in the "El Laguito" factory, which is also known as the Cohiba factory. The exclusivity of this brand comes from the specific tobacco blends made from filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco growing region.
Production is now located in Pinar del Rio, the most important town on the Vuelta Abajo.
Following the introduction of three new formats in 2019, Esmeralda, Topes and Media Luna, the Trinidad brand currently offers a total of seven different formats.
All moulds are completely handmade, tripa larga - completely handmade longfillers.
